The most challenging thing for an NGO is to carry out the successful rescue of injured or trapped animals. This is an on-field job with uncertain tasks in every case. We at CAP have a specially trained team for rescue operations. Rescue is a crucial job, and our volunteers know how to execute their part well. To date, we have rescued ** number of animals and treated them at our shelter.

Rehabilitation refers to the successful treatment of injured animals after rescuing them. Our attendees at the shelter, i.e. CAP’s Freedom Farm, look after the recovery of animals. Rehabilitation includes daily care at the shelter, medications, physical treatment and veterinary visits. Every injured animal at our shelter is taken care of, and every individual has her record and data referring to the rehabilitation. We have a bunch of legal teams who takes care of all the legal aspects while dealing with animal-related issues or rescue case. The legal team consists of people with sound knowledge of the Animal Rights Acts. The legal team takes into consideration society, animals and the government at the same time. The legal team comes into play when there are cases related to animal cruelty or animal rights violations.

Our shelter ‘Freedom Farm’ is a special place for the animals and the people of CAP Foundation. It is a place where all the rescued animals reside. At our self-built shelter, we have various animals like cats, dogs and birds. We also have big animals like cows, pigs, donkeys etc., and people who are constantly present at the shelter to look after them. The shelter team is the one who looks after all the animals throughout the day. Freedom Farm is a joyous place where one is surrounded by animals constantly.

Our Founders Hon. Animal Welfare Officer Sushank Tomar and Hon. Animal Welfare Officer Pranav Trivedi has always shown the right path to society when it comes to animal welfare and also educates people and volunteers for the welfare of the animals. CAP is a chain of people working for the animals and has been rightly teaching the values of animal welfare in society through various workshops, public speaking, events and social activities.

Citizens for Animal Protection (C.A.P) Foundation is a registered not-for-profit organization (MAH/319/2020) based in Thane, Mumbai, Maharashtra,India with an aim to work towards expanding the circle of compassion towards animals. We run Thane city’s first animal shelter cum educational center which gives shelter to all kinds of animals and promotes peaceful coexistence among all kinds of species including humans.

The CAP’s shelter often turns into a playground filled with fun activities, educational sessions and musical evenings during the events. Events are the most happening part of CAP foundation, and it is the time when the gates of Freedom Farm are open throughout the day to welcome all the animal lovers across the city. CAP Foundation celebrates it with the animals at the shelter on special days, festivals, and occasions. Through these events, we get potential donors, funds and recognition as an NGO.
